About TLee Development
TLee Development LLC (TLD) is a community-centered real estate development practice based in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. We develop mixed-income housing and commercial spaces for moderate-income families and local entrepreneurs.
We lead our projects with a place-based approach rooted in deep collaboration with residents, community-based organizations, local business owners, public agencies, and mission-driven investors. Since 2014, we have successfully facilitated the creation of more than 50 units of income-restricted housing in Dorchester, with an additional 70 units in planning. We locate TLD projects near transit corridors and design our buildings to meet Passive House standards to reduce energy consumption and operating costs and create a healthier environment for residents.
Over the last decade, TLD has supported Dorchester-based entrepreneurs by providing retail space and technical support to successful food businesses including Home.Stead Bakery and Cafe, M&M BBQ, and Fresh Food Generation. TLD has also played a direct role in launching the Fields Corner Business Lab and the Dorchester Brewing Company. TLD continues to develop commercial spaces that will provide leasing and ownership opportunities that prioritize local small businesses.
We believe that we are most effective when we think of our communities holistically. In addition to affordable housing and small business development, we connect Dorchester residents to economic opportunity through our Building Black Wealth match savings program and our DotConstrux workforce development program. We also invite residents to take part in investing in affordable real estate through community crowdfunding opportunities. People are at the center of what we do and our work is driven by their needs and aspirations.
